Good link. Thanks. Yeah, this was a manufactured outrage, but the situation was real. Lady Susan should not have said those things. Also that whole loosy-goosy relationship that the British Royal family has with friends, family, and staff is problematic. People should be working members or paid staff or nothing. They can't deal with anymore PR disasters like this, caused by someone with a vague affiliation to the crown.
Side note — I do really admire how the BRF gives out awards to little groups doing good deeds in their communities and shows up to do photo ops with soup kitchens and shelters. There’s no equivalent here in the states.

Oh for sure the whole situation sounds cringeworthy and awful. She sounds tone deaf and oblivious (at best).

The incident at the palace seems to have stirred up quite a few reactions. https://twitter.com/XRLlareggub/status/1598247899426861056?t=mbXFFIPx52w1KY05XCyV6Q&s=19
Interesting to note that Lady Susan Hussey as well as being 83 had been in an unpaid role for about half a century.
