A great nostalgia piece, Laura. Makes me wish I did the same when I was 18. But there weren't many opportunities for it back in 1958. Or maybe I just never thought of them! Anyway,

I think Jonah did his fair share of eating today. He had gotten some stupid bug stuck in his nose but it looks like he got it out thanks to Mom's medi-pot. Looked like he had a fine time in the backyard celebration of Julia, which was topped off by the arrival of Jeff, Sara, and little Maia

Thanks for continuing to shine a light on the important contributions of standardized tests… it’s not the hippest of opinions, but I agree: we would be in the dark about the broad impact of the pandemic on educational achievement without this kind of data.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Hope you have the best time. My first trip to Europe on my own was courtesy of the Army—four years in Germany, followed by another four years about 8 years later. We met on our first tour—an unusual souvenir. We both miss our time there. Keep us posted on your adventures!
